LARRY KING, JR. Combats Heart Disease – America’s #1 Killer

LARRY KING JR. ON SAVING LIVES & HIS FAMOUS FATHER’S FOUNDATION

HEALTHY NATIONAL HEART MONTH KICKOFF

Larry King hung up his suspenders last year after 25 years as one of America’s most respected journalists.  It’s safe to say that Mr. King is an American treasure, and we were fortunate to watch his famous interviews for many years. Larry King, Jr., knows just how lucky we were.  His famous father has had multiple heart attacks, which inspired him to form the Larry King Cardiac Foundation. February is Heart Health Month, the foundation is working to fight heart disease, America’s #1 killer.

The Larry King Cardiac Foundation was established in 1988 to provide funding for life-saving treatment for individuals who, due to limited means or no insurance, would otherwise be unable to receive the treatment and care they so desperately. Mr. King can also discuss his famous father’s struggles with heart disease and how it has impacted his life.

WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO RECOGNIZE HEART HEALTH MONTH

It is important to recognize heart health month because 1 out of 2 people that die of a heart attack never knew what hit them.  According to the American Heart Association, people with high C-Reactive Protein (CRP) are three times more likely to suffer cardiac arrest as those with low levels.  Cardia 7 contains purified omega 7 that has been clinically shown, through one of our partner hospitals, to reduce CRP.  Three years ago, I had a CRP test and the result was high.  With my family history that is significant.  Cardia 7 lowers the inflammation so it’s like cooling a fire in your heart and arteries.  And it contains purified omega 7 that clinicians report amazing results with; not only does it lower the bad cholesterol, but it significantly reduces C-Reactive Protein, by an average of 67%.

THE IMPORTANCE OF DIET FOR PREVENTING HEART DISEASE

Diet is very important.  Since my father’s heart attack he has completely changed his diet to include fruits and fibers.  A heart healthy diet can be easy and delicious.  It all starts with breakfast.  For example, 9 out of 10 physicians recommend Post Shredded Wheat for reducing the risk of heart disease.  That is according to an online survey of 400 physicians conducted by an independent research firm.  Additionally, each serving has 49g of natural Whole Grains and 6 grams of fiber.  You can also use it in recipes for lunch at dinner.  Learn how to make fun recipes like this Shredded Wheat Apple Crisp at PostShreddedWheat.com. Eating well doesn’t have to be a boring.

SURPRISING FOODS THAT CAN PROMOTE HEART HEALTH

Adding certain fruits and fibers to your diet is important. All natural California Raisins are the dried-by-the-sun fruit that you can feel good about eating. In fact, a recent study presented to the American College of Cardiology Scientific Sessions suggests eating raisins three times a day may significantly lower mean post-meal systolic blood pressure for people with pre-hypertension when compared to consuming popular pre-packaged, non-fruit snacks. They're also a great snack to help curb your hunger pains and help stay on any diet.

REGULAR EXERCISE IS IMPORTANT IN MAINTAINING A HEALTHY HEART

Regular exercise, like your diet is very, which is one reason I decided to open the Cheval Athletic Club in Tampa.  You can slowly work up to at least 2_ hours (150 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic physical activity (like brisk walking) every week or an hour and 15 minutes (75 minutes) of vigorous intensity aerobic physical activity (such as jogging or running) or a combination of both every week. Additionally, on two or more days a week you need muscle-strengthening activities that work all major muscle groups (legs, hips, back, abdomen, chest shoulders and arms).
