New Year, New You with Mother-Son Team from “The Biggest Loser”

As the New Year approaches, many of us are making a list of resolutions we want to accomplish in 2014.  Of course the most popular resolutions are to lose weight, eat healthy and exercise more.

"The Biggest Loser" Season 5 contestants, Jackie Evans and her son Dan, are two amazing people who know a little something about losing weight and keeping it off.  Together they lost a combined 225 pounds!

Since the show, Dan and Jackie have honored their commitment to keep the weight off by living a healthy lifestyle.  They completed over 20 half marathons in 2011 alone.

HOW TO KEEP EXERCISE FUN AND INTERESTING

Wii Fit UGetting fit is a lifestyle, which is why it’s important to combine fun with fitness. As much as we love to run, we also love new technology that makes fitness fun like the Wii U high-definition console from Nintendo. The Wii U combines fun and fitness with yoga, strength training and fitness games that get people up off the couch and moving.

Wii Fit U incorporates a new activity meter called the Fit Meter, which is designed to sync up with the game and track daily routines. People can carry the Fit Meter with them anywhere they go, and then easily sync it to their Wii Fit U profiles to track daily activities like steps taken and calories burned.  It’s a fun, affordable way for busy families to stay active in the comfort of their own homes by running through obstacle courses, participating in snowball fights or learning to salsa dance, just to name a few.

Nintendo is offering Wii U owners a chance to download a full version of Wii Fit U for free now through Jan. 31, 2014. On Jan. 10, 2014 the retail version of Wii Fit U that comes packaged with the Wii Fit U game, Wii Balance Board and Fit Meter will be available at a suggested retail price of $89.99. For those who already own a Wii Balance Board, a bundle that includes the game and Fit Meter will also be available at a suggested retail price of $49.99.

ONE KEY TO GETTING HEALTHY THAT MIGHT BE OVERLOOKED

PhilipsSunshine and natural light are essential to our wellbeing. The right type of light, at the right time, keeps us fit, healthy and energized. That's why we like to use the Philips Wake-Up Light.  Inspired by nature’s sunrise the Philips Wake-Up Light uses a unique combination of natural light and sound to wake you up gently and naturally, making it easier to get out of bed, ready for the day ahead.

Philips Wake-up LightThe light gradually increases from soft dawn reds through warm orange to bright yellow light 30 minutes before your set alarm time.  This signals your body to move from sleep to waking, for a natural wake-up light experience. At your chosen time, a natural sound starts playing to make sure you are awake

There are 20 light intensities to choose from with the Wake-Up Light, so you can fully adjust the intensity to suit your needs. You can also add natural sounds, radio, or your favorite song from your iPhone library (only for HF3550). Wake up just the way you want.
